Solar Panels and Electricity Generation

Photovoltaics (PV) is a method of generating electrical power by converting solar radiation into direct current electricity using solar panels composed of a number of solar cells containing a photovoltaic material. Due to the increase demand for renewable energy sources, the manufacturing of solar cells and photovoltaic arrays has advanced considerably in recent years.

Solar photovoltaics have long been argued to be a sustainable energy source. Solar PV installations may be ground-mounted or roof mounted and driven by advances in technology, increases in sophistication and the feed-in tariffs for solar-generated electricity have supported solar PV installations in many countries.

We are able to provide you with free solar panels depending on your circumstances so why not fill in the quick contact form today.

F.I.T (Feed in Tariff Scheme)

Feed-in tariff (FIT) is a policy mechanism designed to accelerate investment in renewable energy technologies. It achieves this by offering long-term contracts to renewable energy producers, typically based on the cost of generation of each technology.

The goal of feed-in tariffs is to offer cost-based compensation to renewable energy producers, providing the price certainty and long-term contracts that help finance renewable energy investments. The Government's Feed In Tariff (FIT) will pay 15.44p/kWh (systems less than 4kW peak power) for all electricity generated through PV systems even if this electricity is used in the property.

This then gives the system owner a further saving as they do not have to purchase electricity from the grid when the system is generating more than required by the property. Any surplus electricity is exported onto the national grid, the rate that is paid for this electricity varies between electricity suppliers.
